French Painter Eugène Boudin (Le grand Boudin) was one of the first plain-air painters whom Corot called the master of the sky and Monet considered his first teacher. Photograph of Eugène Boudin at Deauville-Trouville, June 1896 Photograph Unknown.
Lady in White on the Beach at Trouville (1869). Eugène-Louis Boudin (French, 1824-1898). Oil on canvas. MuMa. Boudin’s oil sketches, here of a lady in white seemingly reading on the beach, were amazingly loose and painterly, and clear inspiration to Claude Monet and the Impressionists more generally.
