Stepped Bronze Obelisk with Aries Heads on all Base Corners Holding a Swag draped on the sides, with the inscription "Dreimasken Verlag / Berlin, Munich, Vienna". The Dreimasken Publishing was famous for output especially of stage works. Circa 1920/30's - Dim: H: 17cm.
Richard Shapiro created a cloistered atmosphere in the Holmby Hills library by covering the walls in green damask. Upholstered seating from the designer’s own Studiolo collection surrounds a 1910 Vienna Secession table attributed to Adolf Loos. The floor is covered with a Moroccan carpet. The fire surround is framed on one side by a huge architectural masterpiece of a dome ; on the other side by tribal masks displayed on a table.
Alabaster & ormolu Obelisk Clock with an eagle with outstretched wings resting at the top of the obelisk. At the foot of the Obelisk lies a sheath of arms. The movement and the dial sit underneath the latter signed Tobias FLASCHGE in Vienna ; with small claw feet. Supporting the base - Austria, early nineteenth century. H: 51 L: 17 - P: 14 cm
