Princess Maria Clotilde of Savoy was a daughter of King Victor Emmanuel II. She resembled him more than her attractive mother, Archduchess Adelaide of Austria. She married Prince Napoleon Bonaparte, nephew of the Emperor. Clotilde and her prince had three children.

Princess Clotilde Napoleon was a sister and look-alike to Queen Maria Pia of Portugal. The princesses were daughters of King Victor Emmanuel of Sardinia, later king of Italy, and his wife, Archduchess Adelaide of Austria.
