Legalising the rhino horn trade is a big topic right now. On our website Dr Simon Morgan (Simon Wildlife-Act) queries the debate and the subsequent divide that has been created by the two opposing viewpoints and calls for unity. Wild Dog lucky to escape a snaring incident. Fortunately the snare had broken away from its anchoring but it was still tightly wrapped around the neck. Fast action saw him darted for treatment. The snare was cut away, his injured neck was stitched up, and he was placed in the boma for a period of recovery. The injuries were severe but his otherwise healthy condition bears testament to the resilience and character of the Africa Wild Dog. Photo by Pippa Orpen
