Josef Hoffmann: Lidded Goblet - Vienna, 1902 -  Manufacture: Würbel & Czokally - Silver, gilded inside, lapis lazuli

The 'Deckelpokal' one of the few silver objects that Josef Hoffmann designed before joining the Wiener Werkstätte .

Surely not a period piece, the design is nevertheless very strongly reminiscent of art deco as employed in hotels, theaters, public spaces, and so forth.

Doat Taxile (1851-1938) " Coloquinte " Vase de forme naturaliste en porcelaine, à panse cotelée et nervurée émaillée rose lie-de-vin nuancé de blanc-vert. Les boursouflures du cucurbitacé sont émaillées bleu. La tige est émaillée blanc et rose. Signée, située "Sèvres" et datée "1920".
