"In 1969 fashion photographer Henry Clarke traveled to Iran to shoot the December spread for Vogue US. Although it’s difficult for some to believe now, the images above illustrate a time when Iran was just as much on the map fashion-wise as Paris or Milan (New York wasn’t even on the fashion map at that point in time). Clarke captured models Marisa Berenson, Lauren Hutton, and Cynthia Korman at various mosques and palaces in Tehran, Isfahan, and Shiraz.
