Gardyne Castle is a 16th-century tower house in Angus, Scotland, located 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south-west of Friockheim. The castle is still in use as a family home. The house was built by the Gardyne family. The Gardynes held a long-running feud with the Guthries of nearby Guthrie Castle and the Crown confiscated the lands of both families in 1632. The Gardynes then moved to a nearby residence, and Gardyne Castle became the property of the Lyell family of Dysart. Wikipedia
