The Journal of Luxury and Fashion was a German fashion magazine, which appeared from 1786 to 1827.  The Journal was the Weimar publisher Friedrich Justin Bertuch in collaboration with the artist Georg Melchior Kraus launched. It appeared monthly in the form of an approximately 30-page loose-leaf and reached about 25,000 readers, making it the first truly popular periodical was the subject of fashion in Germany.

October 1797 Journal des Luxus und der Modene top one makes me think of the Robbins black alamode bonnet at the MFA in shape.

Journal des Dames et des Modes (published in Fashions of London and Paris), July 1800.   In the first few years of existence, Fashions of London and Paris published re-printed plates from Journal des Dames et des Modes (Costume Parisien).  Some of them are replicas of other plates I have posted, but some I haven’t seen before- like this one.
