Carrie Ingalls newspaperwoman, sister Laura Ingalls, South Dakota-1977 POST CARD

Mary Amelia Ingalls (10 Jan 1865 – 20 Oct 1928) was born near the town of Pepin, Wisconsin. She was the first child of Caroline and Charles Ingalls. This photo cropped from one of Mary, Laura and Carrie, taken in 1881, perhaps just before Mary went away to the School for the Blind, was the first photograph they sat for. Ma and Pa saw it as a treasure and a remembrance, the three girls together.
