Captain David Williams Co. K the "Holly Shelter Volunteers" 3rd NC Infantry. He was killed after being disembowelled by an artillery shell on September 17th, 1862 at the Battle of Sharpsburg, Maryland.  His wife took to bed after she heard the news and died, very sad.
