NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has arrived at the Johnson Space Center where it will undergo a 100-day thermal-vacuum test; its last cryogenic test before launch. It will be tested in the impressive thermal-vacuum Chamber A. Chamber A is a staggering 90 feet tall with a 55 foot diameter. It can reach a vacuum as high as 1x10-6 torr and temperatures as low as 35K. This test will help insure that the $8 billion telescope can survive the harsh environment 1 million miles from Earth.
