Wuppertal, Germany: is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, located in the Wupper River valley, east of Düsseldorf and south of the Ruhr area. Two-thirds of the total municipal area is green space. It is known for its steep slopes, parks, and its unique suspension railway, the Wuppertal Schwebebahn. I stopped on my bicycle tour through Europe in 1979. I stayed at the local IYH before pushing my bike up a hill and cycling on and to Cologne.
