Luristan, Western Iran, c. 1000 - 800 BC. Gorgeous slender bronze dagger. Blade and handle cast as one piece, open areas and flanges in handle that once held bone or stone inlays; fan-shaped pommel. The base of the blade is decorated with an incised band of cross-hatching with triangles above, the edges of the blade sharpened in antiquity with nicks to edge from use.
