A fine rapier by Antonio Piccinino (1509 - 1589). Italy, mid-16th Century. Strong, long blade, of hexagonal section, with a deep central groove at the forte with inscription remains, outlined tang with the signature of the famous Milanese sword smith "ANTONIO PICCININO"; iron hilt chiselled with floral motifs counter-curved quillons, two-branches guard, enlarged at the ends, large pommel chiselled in the shape of a blossom. length: 128 cm.  -CZERNY’S INTERNATIONAL AUCTION HOUSE S.r.l.-
