Miyajima Island (Japan) also known as 'Shrine Island' - entire island is filled with shrines and temples - this is part of the Buddhist temple called the Daisho-in Temple. 500 Rakan statues line the sidewalk (rakan means disciple of Buddha and the 500 statues represent the 500 followers of 'Shaka,' the historical Buddha.)
