Garni is a temple complex in Kotayk, Armenia.  The temple pictured was constructed either in the late 1st century AD or in the 2nd.  It was most likely built by Tiridates I of Armenia and dedicated to the god Mihr.  Its construction indicates that Armenia was declaring itself as a Roman province.
