Sunset at Grand Haven
July 8, 2010 My rule about sunsets is this: "If it looks like it's going to be a good sunset one hour before sunset, it won't be." Great sunsets always sneak up on you the last minute. Tonight, the fog lifted just as the sun was setting, and 20 minutes later, the high clouds lit up for about 3 minutes. I used a 3 stop hard edged neutral density filter to hold back the sky. And, yes, the sky was really that color. View On Black
The Fatal Gift of Beauty
Everything beautiful....a place to escape. A place where dreams come true. There is so much beauty around us all we need to do is feel its presence in our everyday lives. All the beauty... All the time ~All photographs & media published here belong to their respective owners.~
Here’s another recent sunset from Alaska. I took this one evening after dinner when I went on a stroll on Deck 10. These are all handheld, as I see no use in using a tripod on a ship to shoot off the edge of the ship. I was a little worried about noise, but it was all handled more than easily enough in Lightroom and Photomatix. - Trey Ratcliff Click here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
