BIJOU COCKTAIL Video
STORY The Bijou cocktail (French for jewel) is an alcoholic cocktail made from Gin, red Vermouth, Green Chartreuse and orange bitters. It is a short drink and is served in a cocktail glass. The Bijou cocktail was first documented to have been prepared in the late 19th century, a time when the use of vermouth in cocktails was becoming increasingly popular. INGREDIENTS 30 ml/ 1 oz. Gin 30 ml/ 1 oz. Green Chartreuse 30 ml/ 1 oz. Martini Rosso sweet Vermouth 1 dash of Orange bitters by Angostura METHOD 1. Pour all ingredients into mixing glass with ice cubes and stir well. 2. Strain into chilled Martini glass. 3. Garnish with an orange zest twist. NOTES Fun fact, "bijou" is French for "jewel". Gin is diamond, Green Chartreuse is emerald, and sweet Vermouth is ruby.

STORY The Gypsy Queen cocktail is apparently one of the oldest vodka cocktails in the United States. The origin goes back to 1938. The Vodka enhances this complexly flavored honey and herb cocktail. INGREDIENTS 45 ml/ 1 ½ oz. Vodka 15 ml/ ½ oz. Bénédictine 1 dash Angostura bitters METHOD 1. Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes. 2. Stir well until well-chilled. 3. STORY The cocktail You’ve Got Mail is a nice riff on the Air Mail cocktail, You’ve Got Mail mixes Cachaça with Citrus (lime juice & orange juice), which is balanced with honey syrup and then nicely and effervescently topped with Champagne. STORY The Kingston Club cocktail is a tasty pineapple juice cocktail with a herbal note. The Fernet Branca liqueur gives this fruity aperitif cocktail almost clove-like aromas. STORY The Cape Codder or Cape Cod cocktail is a type of cocktail consisting of Vodka and cranberry juice. STORY The Bohamian Mule cocktail was created in 1990s in London, England. The Bohamian Mule cocktail tastes long and refreshing, but also with a hefty hit of Absinthe – perhaps the best spirit, drowned in fiery ginger beer, a combination that is put to good use in this mule with lime juice. INGREDIENTS 30 ml/ 1 oz. Absinthe 15 ml/ ½ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice 7,5 ml/ ¼ oz. sugar syrup 105 ml/ 4 oz. Ginger Beer METHOD 1. Pour the Absinthe, lime juice and sugar syrup into shaker with ice cubes. 2. Shake well and strain into a Mule mug (or a Collins glass) filled with ice. 3. Top with ginger beer and stir briefly. 4. STORY The Bikini Martini cocktail is a bright blue combination of lemon, orange and peach laced with Gin. The cocktail was created for a swimwear launch in 1999. The bikini swimsuit was invented in July 1946 by designer Louis Réard and named after the Bikini Atoll, where the first public test of an atomic bomb took place four days earlier. STORY For the Anaïs Nin cocktail, you must shake the anise-flavored Samcuca liqueur with Creme de banana liqueur and Half and half (Cream & Milk) and top with coffee (iced or hot), a cup of whipped cream and a drizzle of the liqueur for a sweet yet intriguingly complex caffeinated treat.
